Just like our decoys the hands of a carver tell a story. George learned to use the measured strokes of a carving knife from his uncle. Growing up in Illinois and transplanted to Long Island, George's carving style is influenced by historical schools from the famous Illinois River to the storied decoy tradition of Long Island. Introduced to the sport at the age of 9 he received his first shotgun, a model 1897 single shot .410, from his Grandfather, and he still takes his daughter Sydney and wife Pamela hunting with it to this day. As a guide in New York, George donates many hunts throughout the year to various veterans support organizations. His honorable support to the bravest among us brings great credit to the Dixie Decoys team.
